Electronic Études
2025
Songs for Two Hands are moments of reflection. Each of these works grows from the seed of an improvisation with a focus on a specific aspect of live electronics: turning reverberation into a sonorous wall, distorting field recordings into textures beyond recognition, looping melodic delays, and scattering granulation. Spinning sonic webs between naturalistic and synthesized realms, these pieces blur the boundaries between real and imagined spaces.
Solo piano, synthesizer and electronics, composed, performed, and recorded by Julie Herndon
